If these walls could talk, they’d have a book full of stories. Hence Indochine: Stories Shaken and Stirred, the recently published book celebrating 25 years of this timeless classic. Since 1984, Indochine has been an amalgam of tropical-bordello décor, French-Vietnamese cuisine and a playground for artists and celebrities. Between the iconic banana leaf wallpaper, black and red wicker chairs and glamorously eclectic crowd that mixes on a nightly basis, your first step inside might feel like entering the Dynasty era. Tease your palate with refreshing spring rolls and a crisp cocktail like the Cucumber and Chili Martini. Surrender to the grilled salmon marinated in teriyaki plum sauce or the vegetarian assortment – a delight for even the most carnivorous appetites. Additionally, Indochine offers a special three-course course menu, a meal created to enjoy before attending a show at the Public Theater across the street: it includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and coffee and is available from 5:30 -7 pm.
